Today my blog is celebrating 3 years of existence! Thank you for following, for your subscriptions and your valuable feedback! Without you blogging would be pointless. :) You have made the statistics of this blog rise. So don´t hesitate to check for updates regularly and please be brave and post a comment once in a while. Die Bewegung Occupy Wall Street, mittlerweile ausgeweitet zur weltweiten Protestbewegung Occupy Together, wurde von den Mainstream-Medien nach langatmigem peinlichen Zögern endlich erkannt und findet zunehmend Anerkennung.
Vorher rätselte man allem voran in den USA, was diese “Hippies” denn wollten und bemängelte deren “Themenlosigkeit”. Das genaue Hinsehen und Hinhören ist erst gelungen, nachdem die Menschen in New York City täglich auf die Straße gingen, immer zahlreicher. Na, worum wird es denn bei einer Bewegung, die “Occupy Wall Street” heißt, schon gehen? Man lese doch mal die Transparente hier.
Es geht um viel mehr als ein aufgebrachtes Volk, das mal für ein paar Tage Dampf ablassen will anlässlich der Finanzkrise, die wie ein Perpetuum Mobile die Börsen in kontinuierlicher Berg- und Talfahrt hält.

We are one world and one world only.
It´s time for us to unite. It´s time for them to listen.
On October 15th people from all over the world will take to the streets and squares. From America to Asia, from Africa to Europe, people are rising up to claim their rights and demand a true democracy. Now it is time for all of us to join in a global non violent protest.
The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end.
United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future.
We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers who do not represent us.
On October 15th, we will meet on the streets to initiate the global change we want. We will peacefully demonstrate, talk and organize until we make it happen.

The financial crisis, the roller coaster ride of the stock market, this big, fat pig we have fed in the last decades and which has proven to be able to lose all its weight within hours – all this and more has become a thorn in the flesh of many people.
Living in an allegedly democratic country, the USA, what do people with new ideas and values do to submit their position? Do they protest? Vote? Well, I deeply hope for the latter and strongly cherish the first. Why? Because it is the only way to be heard. The only path to change. CHANGE. Once upon a time this was a powerful, electrifying word coming from the mouth of a wondrously inspiring man. “Yes, we can.” Only 3 years later we realize little change. Any winds of breakthrough? Hm.
Why is it dreadful to read about how the police deal with the protesters, also here, and here, and to see the shattering images of the Wall Street Occupation? Not because I would have thought that Obama is going to change the United States of America (although I have dreamed of it), but because freedom of speech is a value the USA is always keeping up in the media… and should strongly hold on to also in realization. The freedom of expression – free speech and protest – is an essential cornerstone of Human Rights. Now we see what happens if you want to bring it on the streets like these guys here:

Obama, if you need your people to knock down some doors…
…I guess they´re here now.
Time to face the truth? Time for change?

Saving the European market? Preventing Greece from crashing? This is not the ambition of Goldman Sachs. We all know it. It doesn´t make a difference to hear the truth being spoken out by someone working inside this system.

Objectors arrested at the royal wedding
Did you know that the luxury wedding of Kate and William two days ago was accompanied by some objectors on the streets of London?
